• The Movie That Moved Me
    • A few of my friends had seen The Notebook and read the novel. Their good reviews highlighted the fact that the film is bitter sweet to watch and would definitely turn the waterworks on! After seeing the film, you understand where they are coming from.

I never got round to reading the actual book, but I felt the film did a really good job in capturing the devoted love between the two main characters.

I find myself feeling intense sadness at the thought of ever having to go through the ageing process and the idea of suffering from Dementia.

Can you imagine all those memories fading and never returning? That loved ones fail to recognise you? I don't want to even imagine this happening to myself, friends or family members.

As romantic storytelling goes, this is a definite tear jerker which makes you appreciate what you have now.

Honestly for me, Nicholas Sparks is a very cheesy romantic writer. I never finished reading any of his novels for it's not really my taste and I can't fathom it. But to tell the truth his novels are really good with good plots and climax regardless of what I think(I just read the summary :P)The movie version of his novels are well made too. I can't help but cry even for the fact I'm not really such a big fan of his novels.

i loved the movie... there is something about the quiet, intense persistence of the old guy...the strong love..which brought back his loved woman every time her memories faded away...it had such a beautiful feel to it...and truly, it teaches you to not only cherish every moment with your loved ones..but also makes you learn how to truly love a person and live life fully no matter how it's treating you....and yes, in the end.. tears are inevitable :-)

What was lovely was the moment when she did remember. That is all that he had hoped for....just one moment.

I love the movie.. I didn't like the book! Maybe because I actually saw the movie first and then read the book (usually it's the other way around). I agree- it's so profound and the sadness (& forgetfulness) is the worst feeling. I remember I saw it in the theaters when movies were cheap- like $5.75 and the entire theater bawled their eyes out!
