    • Take more science and math classes, even though you hate math, and find out about financial aid then apply to every nursing school you can think of.
It is possible to fulfill your dreams, even on your own.

I grew up with alcoholic parents and even though my dream was to go to college and become a nurse I had no idea how I would afford to do this on my own. My senior year of high school was truly a wasted year, took a bunch of teaching assistant classes, because I really had no idea that I could handle college on my own without financial help from parents who were more clueless than me.
I became a dental assistant instead because the program was no cost as long as I was under 21 and I could finish it in less than 1 year and work plus move out. While I like this career, I still regret not pursuing what I really wanted to do.
