- A Children's Book Every Child Should Read
-
Honestly as a kid I'm allergic to story books for I thought they were all fairy tales. So I'm all play all day not until I read this book. Clearly, I'm attracted to rabbits that if I'm not allergic to fur I might had considered bugging my parents for having one LOL reading this book made me feel like I have a rabbit :)
This is not the same book I read few years back the first time I read this story. The illustrations were simple cartoon like and is colored in red monochrome so the rabbit there was pink with cute red eyes and outlined lightly in black. Again, I'm not a girly girl to even like pink all I can say is that I was so attracted to the creativity of the illustrations and the color too. It was also the first time I tried drawing after reading the book and did my own version of my rabbit. Starting then I draw at my spare time and doodle when my teacher in math is boring(the reason why I never get an 'A' in that subject)
I'd like children to read this book because this is the classic version of 'Toy Story'. The atmosphere of the story is more on the heart felt side and is very charming. The adventure of the rabbit here is just so fun even after being thrown away and all he still looked for his owner. It's magical too which kids love so much when the velveteen rabbit became a real live one.
We all know that as grown ups toys are lifeless. They look alive because of the character they want to portray to make children happy. The way the author wrote this book is like she's trying to say that we should value our belongings for in one way they have feelings too for we share a part of our life with them. For kids they have toys while growing up to make them have fun and also learn how to value. I believe that even in a young age if kids learned how to value little things like his toys at a young age, he'll grow up compassionate and self-less. I think giving this book for children to read would make them realize even the smallest things in life are as valuable as the bigger ones they see.
