    • Oh, the selfishness!! I actually can remember the years when I didn't think about anyone else's needs, desires, or problems but my own (aside from doing chores). A little kid bubble of self-containment. That's my innocence lost, and there is no way to make up for that loss. Not with a young son, a houseful of animals, tenuous financial future...I am held in place by the hundreds of threads that connect me to things I need to take care of here. I look forward to selfish freedom when I'm dead.
