The costume looks ridiculous but he loves the sword.

"Mummy, why do pirates have to wear bananas?”

When I laugh, he frowns.

"They're called 'bandanas' honey. Don't worry, I'm just laughing cause I get the words confused too. And honest honey, I have no idea."

He is thoughtful.

“Can I drink Coke?”

“Yes. Aite, knock on the door sunshine. You want me to hold that present?”

The oversized sword is getting the better of him. He shakes his head – no thanks.

The door opens. Pirates, fairies, ninjas everywhere. There’s even a king.

“Have fun honey!” I whisper. And wave goodbye.
