      Cutting out

"Tough!" was a growl from Buffalo Bill, as a sandstorm laid cottonwoods dry in his path. Cows fought whipping winds, and most other cowboys simply took to staring.
"Gotta go thru, boys, or Boss'll go to hiring city folk to do our jobs."

A nod, and dusty cowboys found might to shoulder on, turning into gritty winds with sardonic grins. Bill had a way of putting things plainly, and to think of any such uptight, parsimonious, dandy from town withstanding this dirty outlook had two boys cracking out with a guffaw.

Various sounds from mounts and assorted stock brought focus back to work, and as sandy clouds pass, roundup brings stock and sandy guards into a vast corral, accomplishing Bill's goal.

I don't know how I missed your story the first time around, but this is wonderfully written; and with no "E's" yet.
