I worked for the video store up the street from my house and I'm pretty sure I was working for less than minimum wage. More often than not, I felt like I was working in the seventh circle of hell. I think the worst part about the job was fact that they rented porno movies. Don't get me wrong, I am no prude. But at 15 years old, it was, well, just icky. Being underage, I was not allowed in the porn room and due to the nature of the cover "art" each movie had a tag with a corresponding number code which the customer would bring to me and I would then get their little "afternoon delight." Occasionally, they would overlook the tag and bring me the box. Sex education at it's best. The customers who would partake in the adult cinema were varied. Mostly middle-aged men with chino shorts, opened Hawaiian shirts and gold chains. I remember one very embarrassed women who, as I was checking her movie out said to me, "I'm married you know. I mean, I don't just , well, you know." But I think my favorite was the person who decided to rent themselves a little Christmas treat. The title? Well, let's just say, you don't even what to know what Santa Claus was doing all over town.
