Yet another hard prompt, Plinky! I fight this battle constantly. A lot of the time my argument is on the side of truth. Just tell me the truth and don't tap dance around it or sugar-coat it. Just give it to me straight because in the end, it'll be easier to deal with than a lie. But this is only when one decides to bring a problem to my attention. I'm a black and white person and I don't like the idea of gray areas. Either tell me the problem flat out and bring it to my face or hide it completely -- don't hint and dodge and sugar-coat and insinuate. It makes things confusing and doesn't make me feel any better about it.

All you're doing is attempting to spare my feelings when you insinuate and hint and sugar-coat. I say screw that -- bringing uncomfortable situations to my face is already hurting my feelings so why bother sparing them any further? If you're comfortable enough to bring sensitive issues to my face, you're comfortable enough to hurt my feelings so don't try to sugar-coat.

Sometimes, though, ignorance is pretty much bliss. There are times when I would rather just not know things, even if they are true. It's like, maybe for a second if I hear what I want to hear the truth won't hurt as much as it usually does. The problem with the truth is that it's always there and it'll surface eventually, no matter how far you try to bury it. You live and you learn and the truth will always be revealed -- even when you don't want it to be.
