I had a great uncle bob, who never could remember my name. My grandpa would repeat my name to him, and he'd smile politely until grandpa said "Brenda's girl." Then, came the embarrassed/confused look that made me look at my sneakers intently. He always gave me $5, a tithe for guilt. He had Alzheimer's, I think.

I hope I never lose my memories. Memories are the only thing connecting you to time. Before I die, I want to look back at a life full of meaningful experiences, lessons learned, people loved, and good times.
