A text from the bathroom....really?
Oh, technology. My family is lost without it, no longer does one of us yell from the bathroom that we need toilet paper, now we can discreetly send a text...oh yeah - so not kidding. I think technology has its ups and downs. Do I miss being screamed at that I need to promptly bring toilet paper to the upstairs bathroom - short answer...no. Does it bother me that my children can sit in their bedroom and "interact" with their friends without getting dressed - yeah maybe a little bit.
Technology, like everything else should be used in moderation and has to monitored. I still make my boys send handwritten thank- you notes because I personally think it is important to be able to express yourself without the assistance of a spell checker, not to mention, there is just pure manners that go along with that - hey, postal workers need something to do too :).
I have my degree in Information Technology so I will always be looking toward the newest and best ways of doing things, but I don't look to get away from a handwritten letter or a phone call when necessary. I will not take the cell phones because I like the convenience of being able to track my kids at all times but I will be limiting the texts from the bathroom :)
