  • Share where you'd fly for the weekend if your best friend had a helicopter. See all answers
    • If I had easy access to a helicopter, I'd fly to sunny La Jolla this weekend
    • Disclaimer: I'm not setting foot inside a real helicopter anytime soon, in fact my parents got back from Hawaii a few years back and told me they had a tour of a volcano from a helicopter and I looked at them like they had two heads. Didn't anyone see the Day After Tomorrow or Black Hawk Down. Danger-ous! However, I will suspend my fear for a moment and indulge in a little fantasy weekend getaway.

La Jolla is pretty and warm. When Northern California is cold and gusty, this nice little burg outside San Diego is still sunny. I would love a flyover of the canyons around the area and maybe check out all the little nooks and crannies on the coastline.

I would stay at the Grande Colonial on the main drag, Prospect Drive in La Jolla. A perfect little pool for the kids to splash around in and a fantastic ocean view with a sea breeze. Not the drink that some people call a Cape Cod (though I'll take one if you are asking) but a nice salty breath of fresh air. Highly recommended.

Truthfully, I would love to go to Europe but I don't think a chopper flight over the Atlantic is anything I ever want to endure.

Woah. No I didn't. Clearly we both feel that my parents are insane - which I believe means we can have them committed. Legally speaking of course.
