Christmas Eve. Driving to Chicago to pick up the boy from Northern Ireland that I've been talking to for a couple months so that he can stay in Des Moines with me. Our first "date" if you would call it that.

I wanted something plaid and christmasy so I borrowed this green and navy dress from Lizette. It's 80's poofy bottom and strapless top was just perfect. I wore my navy blue tights and blue winter coat. I would have preferred other shoes, but driving in a blizzard, I didn't want take any chances on wearing heels if something bad were to happen.
My necklaces. I'm wearing a green and gold beaded necklace I got from my step-mom Alice just a few days before this. I also have a gold necklace with blue and green zirconium inlay. And one long dangly gold, green and blue necklace. My earrings I ended up wearing were gold and dangly chandelier.
I even painted my nails an emerald green.
I topped of it all with my vintage cloche green felt hat with costume jeweled pin.

This was me dressed to kill. And it went over all very well. He thought I looked very pretty. :) Success.
