- Why We Dream
-
A Fascinating Subject
Our dreams are cast from "tidbits" of information that we are not conscious of from our days past.
~ a glimpse of an old photo while rummaging through a drawer.
~ a fragrance that we catch
~ a TV show that we aren't paying full attention to
I can usually trace the players from my dreams back to a source that I'd experienced the day or two before.
The plot of most of my dreams is a problem or puzzle that I want to figure out. I rarely have "bad" dreams because I accept them as a puzzle even as I dream.
"Sleeping on it" is a great way to help us work things out.
Most of my settings are places from my childhood. I don't know if they are places that were imprinted on my brain while it was a clean slate or if those were the places that made me happy. School took up much of my early days and is the setting for a preponderance of the dreams that I remember. (Yes, it IS difficult to discuss those that I don't remember:-)
Certainly I cannot talk for others who recall dreams. I'd like to know more about your experiences...
