- The Kara I Do Not Know
-
My dreams are an outpouring of my everything. Deepest desires, greatest fears, secret wishes, daily conversations, inside jokes... when I sleep my brain has no rules of where it is allowed to wander; it isn't forced to try to comprehend why the Roman empire fell or fit the mold I try to make it follow. At night, when the Kara I know sleeps, the Kara I will never fully comprehend experiments, she tweaks, she watches my reactions to various dreams and she creates new ideas. Sometimes, she looks out for me and in a rare moment of kindness she lets me dream the dreams that make my heart happy but the rest of the time she just does as she pleases. And I put up with it because what else can you do?
