My name. Oh, geez.
My parents really couldn't decide on anything at first. Mom wanted to do the whole name-your-kid-after-a-family-member thing, but my dad thought all of those names were stupid. My dad loves the name Paige (which I would've been okay with, actually) but my mom hated that as well. I know if I were a boy, I would've been named Richard or Samuel...so, thank Zeus I wasn't a boy because those are lame (sorry to any proud Richards or Sams out there).
One day, though, while in the car, "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" by The Looking Glass came on and my mom said to my dad, "What about Brandi?" and my dad said, "Fine." So...yay me.
While watching SeaQuest when I was a kid, though, my mom got the terrible idea to change my name to the real-life last name of one of the actors on the show, so I had to go by that throughout elementary school. It wasn't a giant change, just added a letter, but I hated it and I think it's the ugliest name on earth. I recently found that it was done incorrectly, though, so I've changed everything back to normal.
My kids are gonna hate the names I have picked out for them, though, so we'll see if I really have room to talk, hahaha
