Dear Little Ones,
By the time you are born I will probably be at least 120 years old--I know! I was born in the last millennium, in the set of '90s before the most recent set!--and long, long gone. I will never see your face on earth, and you won't know of me except through pictures and stories--and perhaps what I've written, like this. In fact, by the time you read this, this letter will probably be about 100 years old--perhaps even 110. I can't say when you'll learn to read, or when you'll see this (if it doesn't get lost in time between now and a hundred years from now), but I want you to know that I love you and I really am very proud of you. At this moment, no, I have not had your great-grandparents, and I don't even know who your great-great-grandpa is. That's okay--that's for later. (You can giggle now because YOU know who it is, you little thing reading!) It's hard to think beyond having children right now--grandchildren are difficult to imagine and anything beyond that is nearly impossible! But as life continues, so one day this will too. I've written letters to my future self before, but that's easy! I already know myself. You, however, do not. Shall I tell you a little?
I'm a glossophile, working on my second language, and I love words and colors. (Maybe YOU are bilingual! Maybe your first language is not the language I am writing in! Oh, can you imagine the possibilities?) I write and take pictures and compose lots of poems and dance oh so much, and I like living. I'm in college at the moment! Just started. Can you believe that? Just think how time flies! Ask your parents--if I'm lucky, I may have met them, a crinkly old lady at the time (but they may not remember). But anyway, in all that you do, live life and love God and live as fully as you can, every day!
