C'mon, let's account for inflation! OK, $1000 it is. If I had a thousand dollars just to spend on myself I would head to the now almost fictional indie music store... you know, where you can buy CDs and such. I would stock up on all the jazz that I've missed out on over the last 5 years or so, and probably some other eclectic styles. I'd probably go to Barnes and Noble next (which is not so indie). They have tons of books and magazines that actually use paper. I'd buy some of them... and some coffee. I'd probably buy all the trinkets in the Starbucks section of B&N that I have to ignore all the time. Since there would probably be a little left I'd go to lunch. If I'm allowed to take another person on this voyage, I'd take my wife to her favorite Japanese restaurant.
