• In defense of my vice: never wanting sleep
    • My vice is never wanting to sleep and finding new excuses to stay up. While I appreciate the feeling of having slept, I find it a waste of time. I once worked the 1:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. graveyard shift during summers in high school, and worked 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. in college to put the newspaper online. I don't intend to quit.

Sleep is nice, but takes up time that could be spent doing so many other things.

Yeah I tend to agree. I also feel the same way about showers sometimes. There's so much other stuff I could be doing for an hour.

I take super-long showers too, but I use them as a thinking space. Stuff that feels silly to think about in the real world is totally reasonable to obsess over in the shower.

I am so with you. Sleeping is such a waste of time, 3 or 4 hours are just plenty.

I'm with you, too. I've gone back to school and now with a full time job, full time mom and full time school I'm full of things always requiring attention. Let's not forget about my internet addiction, either. :(

Agreed - there are not enough hours in a day to waste on sleep

I wish I didn't need to sleep so I could do more, but after a few days of existing on minimum rest, it starts to have a pretty noticeable effect. The main problem I have is being more creative at night, and being absolutely rubbish at getting up in the mornings.

I feel i could think better during the wee hours. 3 hours is enough for sleep. Unhealthy, but at least you get to do a lot..... of slacking off. lol.
