I'd go to some small town, have a pub dinner, and spend the night just talking to the locals.
I took French for a year at A-level, and I was always best at spoken French (I think partly because I'm a gobby cow and my classmates couldn't get a word in edgeways!) so I've always loved just speaking to French people. It's how I've worked on my French accent. I'm sure any French person listening to me would think it was an odd accent, cause there's a little bit of everything in there! (Because yes, there ARE different accents in France :D)
