Memorable birthday? Oh dear where do we start. Take a step back and think for a second. Nah. I know what one it would be. I have to admit that even though I don't celebrate my birthday and do not like it to be made into a big deal, I did enjoy this one.

I was in the Air Force and was stationed in Misawa Japan. It was in 2004. Of course work went well. I greatly enjoyed my work. Of course it was warm outside as my birthday is in the summer. Awesome by the way but then again everyone's birthday should be.

After work I went back to my dorm room, changed and went to the BX. The reason this birthday was so memorable was because I bought myself something special for the first time. I bought myself a diamond ring that I still wear to this day. To me it is something that I will always cherish and the memory that comes with it.

I bought myself a diamond ring, went out to dinner with my boyfriend at the time and then went to the beach. We talked, collected shells, spotted some ships off the coast which wasn't out of the ordinary. We went to a friends house that evening for a few drinks and then went home. For the first time, I was given roses.

In high school on one Valentine's Day someone bought me a rose and a small green teddy bear. I cherish that memory and will not ever forget it. The first time I received a dozen red roses was on this particular birthday. I'm usually the romantic one in the relationship I'm in so getting roses surprised me beyond belief. I bought myself something and received another memorable thing on that birthday.

I think at the ten year mark, after that memorable birthday, I'll get myself another ring. I would think every ten years buying myself a ring wouldn't be a bad idea. I will always remember that birthday. Not only because I bought myself a memorable piece of jewelry, not because I received flowers for the first time either.

I will remember that particular birthday because I was in a different country, I bought myself something special, I received something special, I did something for the first time as well. That would be my most memorable birthday yet. We didn't make a big deal out of my birthday which was fine by me. It was a close and personal celebration that I will always cherish.
