Mind. numbing. paralyzingly. illogical. yet. very. freaking. real.
I jumped like a little girl when my son picked up a rubber snake at Target yesterday. I then did a quick glance up and down the aisle to make sure no one saw my lapse of coolness. Yee. freaking. gads.
I know this has something to do with my animal shadow, or totem, or something spiritual...but I'm too freaking scared to figure it out. When I was younger, I had a bookmark in the "S" World Book Encyclopedia at the snake entry so that I could effectively avoid seeing pictures of the dreaded creature. To this day I will not even go to the snake exhibits at the zoo. It makes my palms sweat just to walk past them.
