- I'm afraid of how all the little, inconsequential decisions we make in life might end up constituting a tragic mistake.

I have thought a lot about this since my father passed away. In conversations with him I realized how much the accumulation of decisions and roads not taken ate at him. It's silly, because he led a wonderful life and was successful by every measure. There were no tragic mistakes to speak of. A couple of bad hands for sure, but that's part of life. The things that could have been haunted him though. It doesn't bother me as much, but it's often on my mind as I think about the things I hope to do.
