Coming from an industry which values services, the first thing would probably be how they look physically... it's odd but that pretty much shows me if that person is taking care of himself or herself. From there, I will be able to know if that person is capable of taking care of others. How they maintain their hygiene, their weight, clean haircut, no B.O, fresh breath...

This may seem very superficial in a way but it has always been the first thing that counts especially when in the service industry. A good clean image of self makes that person so much more approachable.

Character would the partner to the former. A shitty character and attitude would pretty much be a huge turn off no matter how clean cut that person is.

Come to think of it, I guess these both would come in first and foremost.
