Past

Unfortunately I have to run in to my most recent ex frequently because we share some good friends in common and we both play on the same adult kickball team. Usually when I run in to him, I avoid speaking to him although I do now acknowledge him since we are teammates. When I am done with a relationship, I see no reason to prolong what is already a difficult and painful process for all parties involved. Although, thanks to a few things I have been going through lately, it has crossed my mind to ask him the next time I see him what it is about me that seems to cause my relationships to end up on similar tracks. I won't ask him this in reality because it's pointless to reopen old wounds and rehash these subjects with someone whom you only share a past with, not a future.
