- 'Twas not so long ago I started using the Internet

Our first family computer was purchased in 1998. It was a Gateway that was chilling on my mom's desk until last year. From this information you may come to the conclusion that my family is not technologically inclined. You would be correct.
The first time I used the internet was via dial-up America Online. Also my mom's ISP (I now know what that acronym means) up until last year. I had a weird friend who used to come over and always wanted to chat online with strangers. It's pretty safe to say she was every parent's chat room nightmare. I plain didn't get it.
In college I used the internet to do research and check email. Then when facebook came out I started using facebook. I didn't seriously nerd out on the web until I moved to this "Silicon Valley" with all the "web 2.0" companies. And I'm still ages behind on memes and youtube videos and gadgets and technologies but, you know, I'll get there one day.
