      Book burning

Essentially, whether you completely read the book or not, you always finish books that you start reading. Unfortunately, many factors can determine whether or not you read the entire book. Personally, I feel obligated to completely read books that I am required to read, not the ones that I choose to read. I "finish" books that I read for pleasure the moment that they become uninteresting. By nature there has to be lulls in stories to contrast the more entertaining parts, but if anticipation has not been established then the writer did not fulfill their obligation. But then again, sometimes, you're just in the mood for a different book.
