I was writing code for a Boston based company eSurety.com
They had done what was referred in the Dot-Com world as
Not controlled their burn rate
Anyhow, the project was shut down due to lack of capital
I was a contractor, so they were ending my contract
In a fluke of whatever
I received an inner office memo from "President to CEO"
The memo referred to me as "that strange, strange innovative guy in SF"

I replied to "Pete"
"Did you think that good code writers were ordinary people?
Anyone that can spend 20-22 hours a day starring at a black and white terminal
Ain't normal!!!!!"
Of course they were profusely apologetic
