My family stopped having dinner together a long time ago and now that I live with two roommates we don't really eat together often either. The idea of a "family dinner" is kind of dead now that people have such different schedules and are much busier than they were in the past. But, when my roommates and I do get together for dinner we typically talk about some tech news we're interested in or what went on in work that day. I suppose it's a good time when you're all together and everyones attention is mostly focused on one another and not on the television or on their phone.
