Rocket Ship 07

This is hard to answer because everyone I know who is brilliant at one thing is really, supremely dumb in another way, like with my friend who is a rocket scientist who is perfectly capable of performing complex calculations in order to blast people into space without blowing them up but he can't, for the life of him, open a door (I'm not exaggerating--I have to open the door for him when he visits my house and I don't have a complicated door: it's one deadbolt).

I think it has to do with attention being diverted to one area and then there's none left for anything else--my friend is probably thinking about fire and math and space constantly so there's no room in his brain for anything else.
