      My Favorite (Imaginary) Room.

I've always wanted a reading room. I imagine it would be a fairly large room with dark walnut shelves, lined with felt. The room would have a bay window, large enough for me to stretch out on a sumosac, so I can enjoy either the warm rays of the sun or the melancholy of a heavy down pour. I wouldn't want any furniture (in the traditional sense), but envision comfortable shaggy carpeting, a bean bag chair or two, and lots of very large over-stuffed pillows made of corduroy, velvet, and combed cotton. It would have a fire place, a cut-out in the wall for stacking wood, and lit by soft ambient lights. Obviously it would smell of books, both old and freshly printed, mingled with the fragrances of hickory and lavender. The walls would have spiraling, wooden columns with deep grooves spaced between shelves. The ceiling would have a mural mirroring a renaissance theme with similarities of artists like Botticelli, Michelangelo, or Da Vinci.

This would be my favorite place.

That sounds like a room I wouldn't be allowed in, the same way I can't use the guest towels in our spare bathroom. I bet you'd feel smarter just sitting in there though.

Hah, I like to read, and everyone's always trying to talk to me. Would be nice to get away from everyone . . . so I'll be cool and let you use the room whenever I'm not using it.
