Pie. No brainer. I hate the texture of cake--somewhat dry, too light, boring. Pie has the beautiful flaky crust, the rich filling with the sweet fruit surrounded by sweet liquid. And the flavors! Genuine butter and freshness. Or beautiful pumpkin (so many layers of flavor) with whipped cream. Why would anyone pick cake?
