I am thankful for my mind, most of all. It may be crazy and messy at times but it is all mine, my safe haven and my anchor.

I am thankful for living in a time where women have much greater equality with men than they did in the past. We are all still striving for equality, for the sexes, races, sexual orientation, economic and social class; but we are much better off in that sense than we were in the past. Once everyone can realize and agree that in the end we are all just HUMAN, these silly petty divisions will fall to the wayside.

I am thankful for my family and friends. The people in my life that I have allowed in to my heart are all so different and wonderful; I appreciate all my time with them and will always look fondly back at it no matter the time or distance.

I am thankful for being able to sleep with a roof over my head and to have food when I want it. So many people on this Earth cannot say the same and those of us who have it so often take it for granted. I am blessed and lucky 10 times over in that sense.

And finally, I am thankful for having found my voice. Over and over, I have lost track of myself but I have come back to find it again and again. Each time it grows stronger, like I do. It is something that I hope to never lose and to continually cultivate over the years.
