I personally prefer to write my notes out by hand. There's just something about havng to wtite them out manually which makes the words stick in my head.
I alwas find that when I'm typing, it's ery easy to just ramble on about something for too long, because you know that you can just cut and paste and edit. But that's not possible when you're writing by hand, so you think more about what you're writing.
