I went to Hawaii when I was 11 years old. My family and I went because my sister was on a really good soccer team that got to compete in a tournament over there. We were there for two weeks and I remember a lot of it. I remember snorkeling in the perfectly clear water and taking pictures of fish with an underwater camera. I remember eating pineapples until my tongue got raw because of the citric acid in it. I remember opening the ugliest oyster I could find and receiving two twin blueish-purple pearls (turned them into earrings). I remember the very nice hotel room with the beautiful view of the ocean and lagoon. I remember going through a pineapple maze and visiting the famous North Shore area for surfers.
Out of it all, I just mostly recall the perfect water that you can actually see your feet in. The temperature of it wasn't too cold or too hot and the sand seemed so pure and clean. Luckily my boyfriend's family plans to go sometime next year so I can actually be there at an age that doesn't require parental supervision (I'm almost 23). But I do have to save up $1,000 and that's going to be challenging without a job...
