I am a music nerd. I can become vociferous about my opinions regarding music, occasionally to the point of eardrum-shattering insufferableness. My dear friend Stephe has also been known to discuss music for hours on end at top volumes. That's why we're wonderful.

Luckily, for the most part, we don't act like that at the same time when together, or else we'd create a forcefield of smug, loud, know-it-allness that could, and this is not an exaggeration, destroy life as we know it.

Okay, maybe it's a tiny exaggeration. It would destroy most of life as we know it.

Big enough that when I saw "High Fidelity," I immediately called a mutual friend, and said, "The movie's AMAZING, but the best part is Jack Black is basically playing Stephe."

He said, "Stephe just called. He loved the movie, and said the best part is that Jack Black is basically playing you."

Stephe and I will be attending Coachella this spring, by the way. If you notice that life is destroyed as you know it, that's probably the reason.
