    • From the Latin word meaning Bad-Ass
    • My screen name is Skorp. Has been since I first needed a screen name. The "meaning" behind it is a combination of things. I'm a Scorpio. I have pet scorpions. I have an affinity for all things scorpi'. Hell, I even liked the Scorpions in the 80's because they did indeed rock me like a hurricane.

It's had many incarnations too...usually due to some knobgoblin getting it before me. Skorp88, Skorp882003, Skorp76, SkorpD, SkorpDJ, -Skorp-. You know the routine. The Skorp88 one has gotten me in trouble though. Turns out 88 also means Heil Hitler in internet lingo or something, "H" being the 8th letter and all and not to mention spelling Skorp with a "K" which automatically makes me a Nazi I guess. Whateva... The 88 came from an old joke about 88 being better then 69 cause you get "eight" out twice and it made me giggle.

I could have used my real name, for my screen but then not only my closest of friends could tease me about the girly-sounding real name, but a whole load of internet freaks could try and cyber me every time I logged on.

Well that's it...that is the origin of my screen name. I still like it. I don't care if anyone else does. And I'd like to think it's better then "StudMuffin273", "1337d00d", or "IMme2CmeJizz". Although that last one has a nice ring to it.

    Pet Scorpions, oh, man..
For *years*, have wanted my own after rescuing a handful of bouncing brand new tiny, tiny babies that were drowning at a wildlife rehab center where I used to volunteer.. They'd gotten in between a sponge and the side of a water bowl, the sponge having been meant to allow them access to the water *without* drowning.. Just one of those unforseeable things that occurred in trying to provide for something that unusual..
Totally cool pets.. I'm green-eyed with envy (seriously).. :))
PS.. I'll match your girly-girl name for a guy with being "Studebaker" here and there.. Invariably end up with new female followers unsubscribing regularly after I mention something about being the same myself.. Can only begin to imagine they don't get past "Stud" before hastily toggling "Subscribe".. :))

I'll trade you. I want to be called Studebaker! You should look into pet stores in your area. I know there are a lot around me that offer exotic pets, though I usually stick with the harmless Emperors.
