- My Definition of Wealth
-
Since so many people seem to think that the more money they have, the happier they will be, I suppose they must think their happiness is dependent on how financially well off they are.
Personally, I need a certain amount of money to pay my way, buy groceries, and pet food for my dogs and cat, gas in my vehicle, and to put clothes on my back, and maybe have a few extras. Other than that, I believe having accurate scriptural knowledge is the most important source of real wealth. I also count having real friends and being of great value,
I love being close to nature, enjoying the scenery, watching the animals, even ants and spiders, when they are outside, where they belong. I love watching the stars twinkling in a dark night sky, the waves on the sea, and birds that search for food along the lake shore. I admire the hawks and pelicans that fly over, searching for their next meal. Have you ever seen a flock of hundreds of pelicans, as they soar high over a lake or the sea? It's a sight to behold. These birds may look ungainly walking on solid ground, but in the sky, they are so graceful, it's one of nature's wonders.
