• How Can You Save Money These Days, Anyway?
    • Do I save money?

      Loose Change

      Money? Ha. What money?

I've been "officially" unemployed for nearly a year. In that time I have tried to make money as a freelance writer, blogging, and crafting. My husband works full time doing whatever work he can find as a contractor.

I suppose if I had money I would save it. But I'm completely and utterly broke. Any money that I do make immediately goes towards paying some bill or expense. There are lots of expenses when you have a family and run a farm.

So I don't really save money. I stretch it.

I can take a dime off the sidewalk and stretch it into a quarter.

I am always looking for ways to combine offers, get more for the same price (or less!), or find the cheapest, thriftiest bargain. That doesn't mean I always buy the cheap stuff. I buy things that will get me the most bang for my buck.

Some how we are still barely scraping by. We shuffle bills and let some fall behind, pay what we can, put food on the table, and take care of the animals. The things that matter are taken care of. I guess that's the best we can do these days.
