- I've Had Months to Kill and Life Ain't a Party
-
I've practically been on a break that long, if not longer. I'm at school but not working but when I was doing neither because I've been unemployed, life hadn't been that fun. I want to work and I've been trying to find jobs but to no success. People think life is one big party when you're unemployed but it isn't. You can't have fun if you're worried about making ends meet and feeling stressed. All my friends and my boyfriend are at work during the day so it's not as though I'm chilling with people and living the good life. I hate this negative view from people on those who are unemployed because they want to label us as lazy or not goal-driven. I'm far from lazy and I'm the most goal-driven person I know. Is it so horrible that I'm trying to find a job as a file clerk or legal assistant instead of taking a crappy retail job that would pay me less than I'm getting on unemployment? I have my mom and sister to worry about and a house and bills to pay for so I can't settle for anything less.
If I didn't have bills and school to worry about and had money saved up, I would probably travel for six months. Sadly not many of us have that luxury.
