    • A real-life Suzanne
    • The little known movie "An American Rhapsody," starring young Scarlett Johansson, was one of the previews on a VHS that I owned. As soon as I saw the trailer, I knew it was a match made in heaven.

Suzanne is a young girl who grows up in Hungary and then moves to the States. During her teenage angst phase she struggles with her identity, feeling that she's too foreign to belong in the US. She travels back to Hungary to visit the places she thinks of as "home" and realizes they aren't really home anymore. She feels that she's not Hungarian enough to belong in Hungary and not American enough to belong in California. The movie ends with her beautiful realization that she will spend her life straddling a border between the two and, how great, she is both Hungarian *and* American.

Hits a little close to home; I spent most of the movie in tears.

Have you seen Revolutionary Road?! I just started reading the book and it's great. If you're mocking RR my suspicions are confirmed. You have no heart.
