Yucatan beach

When I was 12 I went to the Yucatan with my mom and step dad. We stayed for a month, mostly in hammocks. I never forgot the sights smells, the food, the ocean, or the culture. We went to Chichen Itza. Merida, Cancun, Isla Mujeres. I learned to speak Spanish in that month. I had to. I forgot most of it by the time I was 14. I got tonsillitis on the island and had a fever of 104 for 3 nights. I hallucinated that tarantulas were falling from the ceiling into my hammock...ugh. I was snorkeling within four days of getting sick. Mexico seems to have all the right pills :) Snorkeling was amazing. I always wanted to go back to the Yucatan, but my memories are from 1980. I am sure it is very different now. I almost want to keep it that way.
