    • My Dad's advice
    • The Wisdom of Mike

My Dad was a great guy. He was strong, smart and one of the hardest working people I have ever known. My Dad's words of wisdom were many and true, but the theme of his entire life was never give up, not for a second, not ever. When I am feeling low and tired I think about him and of all the sacrifices he made for my family. I ask myself what he might tell me if he were here watching me struggle through a difficult day. I can actually hear his words, his passion and dedication. Never give up Allison, keep going. I think this outlook is so optimistic, because it really means that anything is possible.
My Dad opened his own business right after losing a job and he and my Mom had just had their third child, me. In the toughest of times my Dad knew he could make it because his success depended upon his dedication and determination. As an adult I have realized that this wisdom has shaped who I am. I really believe that if you work hard enough you can indeed achieve your goals. Call it simple, call it naive, call it good old Irish stubbornness, just don't call it a day. Never give up. Never.

Way to go Allie, you got us all crying! Your dad was a truly amazing person. In the short time that he was apart of my life, he was more of a father to me than my own dad. I cherish him for that.
