I don't know if I am out of date but has the 'New' generation really stopped listening to the radio as much? As a kid and teenager I enjoyed nothing more than discovering new radio stations; And I always have had a love for Music.

But Yes I sure do listen to the radio namely X-FM based in London and Manchester too. For me they play my genre of Music, mainly Indie and even more. It may not be the Biggest station in the UK but they do have a loyal following.

So Plinky's Question "Do you ever listen to the radio anymore?" has my answer below......

Heck Yeah! I find it strange to be asked this Q by Plinky; Are we that consumed with technology such as MP3's players, MP4's players iPods, and the like that we no longer listen to Radio any more in favour of compiling our own favourite songs to listen to only?

I don't know if it is a generation thing because I see youngsters all the time with their earphones in listening to music they have downloaded or uploaded, but I wouldn't necessarily see that with much older people.

I personally fall down the middle line; Brought up with this technology? "No". Familiar with it? "Yes". Needing to catch up with it? "Had to". But...I still love listening to the radio.

There is just one station I stick to 95% of the time as I enjoy the music and the presenters are a lot of fun and very amusing . Even my Cat likes it- as soon as he heard a Guitar on the TV the other day, his head shot straight around to look at it which proves to me he has taste!! After all, he listens to the same radio station for company when I am out! ;-)

I think that if you can find a station that you like and offers a range of variety from presenters to certain music slots throughout the day, then you would be more inclined to listen to it. So for me, my Radio Station is on a lot when I'm home and it's great to listen to what new music is coming out.

I would L-O-V-E to hear others thoughts on this because I can't be the only one who listens to a radio more often than not. Being without it I would feel quite sad. What media do You favour most and Could You live without listening to the radio? I'd be very interested to hear :-)
