- The diminished role of the radio
-
I used to listen to radio when I was in high school. It helps me in concentrating on my studies. I don't have a particular FM station that I tune in to and more often than not, I find myself switching stations. As for AM, I only listen to one station.
At present, I don't listen to the radio anymore. This is an unintended consequence of the technological advancements that I learned to embrace. For the news, we rely on TV and our favorite AM station can now be seen on TV. For music, we use our DVD player together with our 5.1 speakers. As such, our radio is rendered useless.
Nonetheless, listening to the radio remains a worthwhile pastime. Its just that there are more accessible means to get the news and listen to music.
