I LOVE to read so I can safely say that I read about 30 books a year. Reading is the only way I can safely ignore my own reality for stretches at a time. I don't care if the book is a paperback, hardcover or on my Kindle Fire, as long as I can read when I want to.

I would read to both of my kids so I was not surprised when The Daughter took it up as a hobby. She loves to read as much as I do and reads beyond her grade level. The Man and I decided to buy her a Kindle Fire for her birthday in February and it is loaded with books and games already. She plays her Angry Birds as much as the educational games and reads before bed every night. When The Son started making noises about his own, we bought him an Innotab in March for his birthday (harder to break then a Kindle and more his age!) and he reads more then he used to, or at least more then he wants me to read to him. I guess their voices do better at telling a story then I do when he hands me a book :)

At least when everyone has their nose in, it's quiet in the house for a little while anyway :)
