• Earliest Memories, not oiliest
    • Well for openers
Plinky done did this one aways back
      But
For all of you that weren't born yet, here goes
      _____________________________________

During the war(WWII) my father took a job in Vermillion SD training pilots
By this time there were 9 of us kids
Too much for ma to do alone
      So
Mom farmed me out to my God Parents in Garden Springs Terrace Idaho
      I was two
      Their front yard was dirt
Mr. Brown dug holes about 16" deep
      And
Put toys in them for me to play with
      They had no children
That's the best he could come up with
      Worked..........
The local grocery was on a pie slice shaped plot, about 36 degrees
      And
      Therefore so was the store
The entrance was at the the point
      Kinda liked that building
Had no idea who these people were
Years later when I asked Ma about it
      She was incredulous about it...
Exclaimed "You were two, how did you remember that?"

      That's my story
If ya want anymore, you'll have to sing it yourself
      Like Pom Pei

People just don't seem to comprehend kids with very early memories, do they? I recall things that my older sister has all twisted. Just recently, I reconnected with a cousin who is several years my senior, and her memories and mine are very close to identical, whereas my older sister, who is about half way between us, has memories which don't mesh.
