Large Blue Spruce trees

Every time I walk into my house where I grew up it seems to get smaller and more run down but that is besides the point. My dad still lives there but I don't visit that often . However, the blue spruce tree in front of the house just keeps growing and the roots get bigger too where I think the whole house and front yard is taken over by the underground root system. Last time I was there the whole top of the tree had fallen into the neighbors yard. I don't know how it happened but it's an awful site to see.
