    • Hammer365: 079/286 The Book Store

I am a creative person. My favorite creative pursuits are quilting, writing and scrapbooking. My problem is they all vie for my attention at the same time. I have many projects in various forms of completion and it is a source of frustration for me. When I need inspiration for quilting, I look through quilting websites, magazines or a quilt store. When I need inspiration for writing, I go to a bookstore. Even though I love the library, I find the bookstore has the most recent books where I can note the trends, and the books are organized in an easier manner for browsing: tables, vs. shelves, etc.

I like your drive, your ambition to be who you are. Couldn't help but notice your remarks re your creative pursuits being a source of frustration when they simultaneously vie for your attention [I know that feeling well] and your comment about "noting trends" in bookstores. I know it's none of my business, but I'd encourage you to pay less attention to current trends in writing and write from YOUR heart. Here are a couple of my favorite writer quotes because they help me focus:
“Great authors write from the heart. A book without a pulse is like a person without a spirit.” ~Linda Radke, author and publishing guru
“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” ~ Maya Angelou, American writer
Continue to be the creative you. Cheers!
