    • A live performance I'll never forget. What was your favorite live performance?

      Village Vanguard, NYC

The last live performance I saw was the 3 Cohens, a jazz trio of 3 siblings from Tel Aviv, Israel, at the Village Vanguard (Greenwich Village, New York City). The Village Vanguard has been open since 1935. It was fascinating to sit where the great jazz artists - Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Charlie Mingus, Bill Evans - used to perform. I felt transported to the '30s, just being in this crowded, but intimate room, surrounded by people who loved jazz too. The Village Vanguard defines New York City for me.
