      Oh there are SO many things I wish my cat understood. But the first one that comes to mind is...Next to the litter box is not the same as IN the Litter Box...no its not cute or funny! But she going on 16 years...guess its close is good enough. Love my kitty.

    Even cats get a little senile with advanced age, and in such cases, there may be nothing you can do, other then just make sure the litter box is scooped at least once daily, in order to keep it really clean. Chances are, that you kitty is just getting on in years, and may not be able to situate herself in the box correctly. Some people use larger litter boxes allowing kitty more room to get in "just the right spot."
